About the Recipe
This is a great budget recipe if you're looking to get a good serve of protein without breaking the bank.
It's also super easy and time effective - five minutes to prep and then leave it to do its thing for 45 minutes whilst you tackle bigger life chores.

Ingredients
1 tbsp Olive Oil
1 medium Onion, chopped
1kg Ox Heart
1 tbsp Plain Flour
2 Beef Stock Cubes
1L Water
2 tsp Garlic Granules
1/2 tsp Salt
1/2 tsp Ground Pepper
Preparation
Step One
Grab a big cast iron pot, add a tablespoon of oil and leave to heat.
Step Two
Whilst heating, place the Ox Heart cubes in a big bowl, add flour and lightly coat using your hands.
Step Three
Add the onion to the pan and gently cook until it’s soft and translucent. Add the meat and slowly brown.
Step Four
When the meat has browned, add the spices, beef stock and water. Bring to a boil and then leave to simmer with the lid on for 45 minutes.
Step Five
Whilst the stew is bubbling away and doing it’s thing. Make your sides! We recommend steamed peas and carrot, plus some great mashed potatoes.
