About the Recipe
The beauty of this delicious burger? It's smashed thin so it cooks fast and saves you adding too much oil! Goes great with a delicious Brioche Bun and salad. If you want to keep your fats a little lower, opt for 10% mince instead.

Ingredients
500g Minced 15% Beef
4 slices American Cheese, substitute for Gouda Slices if you don’t like Plastic Cheese
4 Burger Buns
1 White Onion, sliced in half moons
½ head Lettuce
1 Large Tomato, sliced
12 Round Pickles
Hamburger Sauce: (8 servings)
¼ cup Mayonnaise
2 tbsp Ketchup
1 ½ tsp Mustard
¼ tsp Garlic Powder
½ tsp White Vinegar
½ tsp Sugar
Salt and Pepper, to taste
Preparation
Step One
Divide the meat into 4 pieces and loosely form into balls. Mix the sauce together.
Step Two
Fry the onions until soft and caramelised on medium low heat, approximately 8-12 minutes.
Step Three
Heat pan to a high heat and add a small amount of oil until it just coats the bottom of the pan.
Step Four
Place a hamburger ball on the pan and using a piece of baking paper press down hard with a large
spatula. Try and get the patty as thick as you can. Cook for 2-3 minutess on the first side.
Step Five
Flip and add some of the caramelised onions, then a slice of cheese, cook for another 1-2 minutes.
Step Six
Toast the burger buns on medium heat in a dry pan then build the burger.
Step Seven
Coat both buns with the sauce then stack the bottom bun with lettuce, then tomatoes, then burger, then pickles and finally bun.
